Forums > East Hampton Antiques Show Login or Register to Reply Maine Antique Digest Posted: 06/19/08 12:08 East Hampton, NY May 2008 – Now in its second year, The East Hampton Historical Society will present the East Hampton Antiques Show Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13 at their historic Mulford Farm property on James Lane, East Hampton. The show, a must-attend event at the center of the Summer season in East Hampton, combines the finest antiques dealers with some of the nation’s top interior designers and tastemakers. This year’s Designers Committee will consist of 25 of the country’s top interior designers including Mario Buatta, Jamie Drake, Arthur Dunnam, Mariette Himes Gomez, Noel Jeffrey, Charlotte Moss, and Sills Huniford. Launched last summer, the revamped show was so well received by collectors and dealers alike, that interest from dealers exceeded space available this year, resulting in a waiting list of top dealers well beyond the 60 dealers confirmed. Richard Barons, Executive Director of The East Hampton Historical Society, states, “We are delighted by the outpouring of interest in the show this year from East Hampton residents and visitors alike. And we cannot think of a more fitting setting for a show of this caliber than our beloved Mulford Farm in the heart of the historic village of East Hampton.” The focus of the 2008 show is antiques and decorative items for the home and garden. An enticing and wide-ranging assortment of items, including vintage rattan and bamboo furniture, lighting, textiles, architectural elements, American formal and country painted furniture, Art Deco and Moderne furniture, garden ornaments, wrought iron accessories, paintings, trade signs, period jewelry, weather vanes, and mirrors will be offered. An opening night preview cocktail party on Friday, July 11th kicks off the weekend-long event, with Ina Garten of Barefoot Contessa fame serving as Honorary Chairwoman. Ms. Garten has also graciously agreed to lend her talents by collaborating with caterer Brent Newsom on the hors d’oeuvres and refreshments for the opening party. An exclusive book signing by interior designers Chippy and Keith Irvine will be held at 2pm on Saturday, July 12. Show hours are 10am – 6pm, Saturday, July 12 and 10am – 3pm, Sunday July 13. Early buying begins at 9am on both days. General admission to the show is $10. Admission for early buying is $20 which is valid for both days. The Preview Cocktail Party is from 6pm – 8:30 pm on Friday, July 10.
