Guns, Civil War Powder Horn, etc.: An important highly scrimshaw carved powder horn inscribed Aug. 7th, 1865, G. Wagner, Co. E 7th Pa. V Calvary, Macon G, also inscribed in a banner J.I. Smith for whom it was made (James Ira Smith, born July 1843 in Porter Township, Clinton County, Pa.) embellished w/eagle and banner (The Union now and forever), a great Civil War Union soldier w/flag, sword and revolver, Lady Liberty, Indian w/rifle and tomahawk, Union shield, bear, bird in tree, (one-of-a-kind Civil War horn w/provenance); an important Civil War officer’s leather trunk belonging to Major Charles P. Chandler of Mass. 1st Infantry (name on both ends), he was killed 6,30,1862 during the charge of Hooker’s Brigade, pictures of him w/a letter to his mother of her noble son and his bravery in the battle: excellent and rare Parker Bros. circa 1897 double-barrel 10-gauge shotgun in excellent orig. condition, fine intricate engravings, skeletonized butt plate, grade DH-3 serial 87695, Damascus barrels (great gun); Marlin model 1893 lever action 30-30 rifle, 23½" octagonal barrel in good cond.; 1840-1850 bull stock tiger maple percussion rifle signed TH on barrel, nice patchbox and silver inlay of stag deer w/orig. surface; 15½" L. 1835-1845 percussion pistol found in Juniata County, Pa., w/approx. 49 silver inlays – triangles, diamonds, star, crescent moon, 12 hearts and 2 fish, in the black; 13" stag handle orig. bowie knife by Edgebrand, Germany; 2 fine late handmade knives w/stag horn handles; early hand wrought-iron bear trap in good condition.

American Quilts: A quality collection of approx. 33 trapunto stuffed, pieced and appliqué quilts from 1846-1945, nearly half are unlaundered, the balance are in fine to excellent condition, quilts have well coordinated colors w/frames or colored borders, most of the quilting would rate fine, excellent or immaculate, some are signed and dated (only a few have minor stains or wear!) an excellent red and green calico framed Carolina Lily pieced quilt covered w/trapunto stuffed scrolled feathers, fruit and stars + great stippled quilting, signed 4 times in center of quilt (Mary Ogiers Quilt 1846, few stains, however great workmanship!); wonderful 1890 Lancaster County Mennonite bold red and green diamond in a square w/excellent quilting; pre-1850 harvest sun w/fine trapunto stuffed feathered wreaths in earth tone and rose colors; 1880 appliqué w/9 panels of red, green and yellow-mustard calico Christmas cactus w/8 eagles in red and green calico; graphic burgundy-oxblood touching stars w/a blue and white calico print (immaculate quilting); 2 tremendous youth or crib quilts, 1 pre-1900 - one 1860, unlaundered w/immaculate quilting, (wait till you see them); excellent 24" square Star of Bethlehem baby quilt in vibrant colors; approx. 10 floral, mariner’s compass, princess feather pinwheels, tulips, Centre County eagle, etc., appliquéd quilts; 10+ pieced quits – variable star – stunning ocean waves – geometric – crazy – 9 patch – snowflake – bars, etc. All the above are wonderful quilts but can’t describe them all because of space! Hooked Rugs, Coverlets and German Banner: Hooked rug w/a large colorful central rooster and rearing horses in corners – stag deer w/tree, foliage and waterfall – fine colorful 38" x 67" horse-drawn 3-seated carriage and passengers w/a church and village on a background hill 38" x 43" rug of 2 seated Labrador dogs signed Scott 1915 – early 28" x 46" hooked rug of a black cow on a background of colorful striations, (rebound edge); fine and scarce 19th-century yarn-sewn purse, pot w/vines, florals, insects and birds in earth tone colors.

Coverlets: Coverlet attributed to Henry Oberly, Womelsdorf, Berks Co., Pa. – coverlet signed John Smith 1835, S. Leibich from southeastern Pa. – red, blue, and green coverlet signed Ambrosius Miller in 4 corners, large center medallion w/parallel bars of scrolls, foliage and grapes; rare 56" square German commemorative banner, 1 side has shields, crowns, rampant lions, corner shields have iron cross, helmet, swords and dates of 1870-1871, other side of banner has scene of German soldier gazing at Christ on a mound of rocks w/upward stretched arms w/a broken cross on ground, unbelievable metal, yarn and thread-stitched lettering and embellishments, (banner has need of some restoration, however a work of art worthy of repair).

Fine Collection of Approx. 30 Pieces of R.S. Prussia: Rare Tiffany finish R.S.
