Laubenheimer, Die Sinker, Engraver and Medailleur, born in Germany in 1833 and arrived in the U.S. in 1851 as an apprentice die sinker-engraver. He opened his own business in 1858. He is known for designing and engraving the 1870 U.S. Postal Stationery series in which he received a Post Office commendation. He is also known for designing and engraving numerous medals including medals for the 1876 Centennial Exhibition and the 1892-93 Columbian Expo. We are privileged to offer the family archives of this amazing craftsman and artist which have been held closely by the family for over 100 years.
