The Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates First Annual Ceramics Seminar May 4 and 5, 2014 Held at the JSE&A gallery, Mt. Crawford, VA.
This inaugural ceramics seminar at JSE&A offers everyone from amateur to advanced scholars the chance to hear lectures of interest on 18th and 19th Century English and Asian pottery and porcelain, followed by extended periods of hands-on review with time to examine a variety of pottery and porcelain made of different bodies and decorated in differing techniques. This year, the first half of the review and hands-on study covers pearlware, prattware, and creamware; the molded, printed and painted wares made in England between 1740 and 1840, focusing on the George and Mickey Deike collection of English pottery. The second half of the seminar spotlights Chinese Export porcelain, particularly focused on a day-long tour of the famed Reeves Collection at Washington & Lee University in Lexington.

Special Event: Reception and collections tour at the Sites House, Jeffrey and Beverley Evans’ 18th-century historic home.
