A Beautiful Example of Form & Function
Exceptionally rare diminutive arrow vane and lightning rod
A most unique find... a copper and zinc vane topped with an iron lightning rod. All one piece and in remarkable condition, this 19th C. Massachusetts vane has much of its sizing remaining on the arrow’s tail and lovely verdigris along the arrow shaft and upright. The arrow head is solid zinc. A small copper sphere supports the three pointed iron lightning rod that shows age-appropriate pitting and rust. It measures only 19½ inches from tail to tip and is 16¼ inches high including stand. This is a rare and authentic piece that uniquely compliments any collection. $3,250.
