Elisha Taylor Baker
(American 1827-1890)
The Schooner Waterlily

This oil on canvas is unsigned but unmistakably the work of E.T. Baker. It displays typical features of his work such as vertical stripes in the flag. There is also a highly luminous quality to the sky and particularly to the water off the bow and stern.

Condition: untouched, uncleaned in its original lemon gold frame. It can be enjoyed as is or would be spectacular with just a very light cleaning.

Circa: 1875.

Provenance: This painting was in the collection of the late antiques dealer Chad Richards of Camden, Maine, for the past 35 years.
