Mid-17th-century English Spice Cupboard

Of all oak construction with unusual 8-drawer configuration—2 drawers over 5 over 1—all inside a strap-hinged door.

The lock with beautifully forged escutcheon boasts a working key. Panel door is heavily molded on its sides and ornamented in the center with a molded diamond shape.

Fascinating dot decoration surrounds the front of the case on its top and sides. Most drawers have original brass pulls remaining.

Where there is expected wear for its age, this rare cupboard remains sturdy and handsome.
