Round Top, Texas

Perfect weather and a great fall crowd helped make the fall edition of the Marburger Farm Antique Show one of the largest ever held—featuring over 350 dealers, more than 30 of which were first-time exhibitors. The show, which took place in Round Top, Texas, October 2-6, 2012, welcomed several new additions to the 43-acre antiques wonderland.
A man cave was added to the Blacksmith Bar, providing a haven for visitors to rest and relax in between shopping and to catch on satellite TV any games they might otherwise have missed. “Happy husbands equal shopping wives,” explained Ashley Ferguson, CEO of the Marburger show. Return visitors in the spring needn’t worry about missing March Madness and the Masters tournament during their trip to Round Top—they will find them playing in the man cave.
The show also welcomed Donald King Cowan, an accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers, to the Marburger family this fall as an authenticity advisor. “He will continue to make every effort to ensure that merchandise at the show meets our criteria for authenticity and age,” Ferguson said.
One of the most rewarding parts of the show for Ferguson, dealers, and visitors is the continued partnership with Dwell with Dignity, a nonprofit group of interior designers whose mission is to help families escape poverty and homelessness through design.
“Marburger dealers and shoppers have the opportunity to donate items to this wonderful organization at each show,” said Ferguson. “These items are then sold at their Thrift Studio fundraiser to support their mission.”
The Marburger Farm spring show will take place April 2-6. For more information, contact Ferguson at (800) 947-5799 or go to (www.roundtop-marburger.com).
