This helmet is made of wood with the New York Firemen’s Association shield and 48th and 18 St.
In original condition with iron hangers for hanging. It is from early to mid-20th century and is in original paint, no repairs.
The rear hanger could be an old replacement? It measures 32 inches x 20 inches x 17 inches.
These fire signs are very unusual. A similar example was sold at Julia Auction, August 18, 2017. Item # 3186. Julia’s example doesn’t have the eagle finial.

The iron frame has an old layer of gold and the spectacles paint is original except for the black on inserts.
