Imari porcelain at this sale varied greatly. Some pieces had designs similar to export Imari but painted with more care; others were more elaborate in design, palette, and painting. All fish-shaped examples did very well. This 14" platter went at $742.50. Robert C. Eldred Company's Oriental Art Auction, East Dennis, Massachusetts, August 19-24, 1996.
