These 9" to 11" ships look like toys, but they are recognition models used in military training during World War II. The largest is the Queen Mary, the smallest is Monarch of Bermuda. Made by Van Ryper, they are some of the few products manufactured on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. Collectors include steamship, military, and toy enthusiasts. For the past couple years they have brought a steady $200 apiece. This lot of four in their original boxes sold for $935.
